Mythos Product Terms

These Product Terms apply to your use of Mythos, the writing application operated by Baruchiel at mythos.baruchiel.com and distributed as a desktop application. They supplement the Baruchiel Terms of Service, End User License Agreement, Privacy Policy, and Refund Policy. In the event of a conflict, these Product Terms prevail for Mythos.

1. How Mythos Is Offered

  • Free tier (desktop): The Mythos desktop application is free to download and use indefinitely, with no account required. It includes unlimited stories, chapters, scenes, characters, locations, and world notes; the full rich-text editor; TXT and DOCX export; manual backup and restore; and up to 5 version snapshots per scene on 1 device.
  • Mythos Pro (subscription): A paid subscription adding cloud sync across unlimited devices, access to the web application, unlimited version history, PDF/EPUB and manuscript-format export, the visual timeline, corkboard, writing heatmap, and automatic daily backups with 30-day retention.

2. Pricing, Trial, and Billing

  • Pro is priced as published at mythos.baruchiel.com (currently USD 7/month or USD 60/year). Prices may change with at least 30 days' notice as described in the Terms of Service.
  • 14-day free trial: Every Pro plan begins with a 14-day free trial. No charge is made until the trial ends, and you may cancel during the trial at no cost.
  • Payments are processed by Lemon Squeezy as Merchant of Record. Subscriptions auto-renew until cancelled; on cancellation you keep Pro access until the end of the paid period.
  • Refunds are governed by the Refund Policy — charges are final once a billing cycle begins, with the trial as your evaluation period.

3. Your Writing and Your Data

  • Mythos is offline-first. Manuscripts created in the desktop app live on your own device and are not transmitted to Baruchiel unless you enable cloud sync.
  • You always retain full ownership of everything you write. Cancelling Pro stops sync and Pro-only features; it never removes the manuscripts stored on your device, and the free desktop app continues to work.
  • With sync enabled, your content is stored on Baruchiel's servers solely to provide synchronisation, version history, and backups, as described in the Privacy Policy.

4. Platforms

Desktop builds are currently available for Windows and Linux, with macOS planned. The web application (Pro) supports current versions of modern browsers. Platform availability may change over time; material changes will be announced on the product site.
